Anti-Ragging Cell

Anti-Ragging Cell should be one of the important part of Educational Institution's mechanism. As per the guidelines of UGC under the Act of 1956, which is modified as UGC regulations on curbing the menace of Ragging in higher Educational Institutions, 2009, establishment of Anti-Ragging Cell is very compulsory.

Anti-ragging Cell functions in this institution to prohibit, prevent & eliminate the scourge of ragging including any conduct by any student(s). On any reported incident of ragging, the Head of institution will file a First Information Report (FIR) within 24 hours of receipt of such information and report the occurrence of the incident of ragging to the District Level Anti-Ragging Committee & the Nodal Officer of Calicut University. The institution will also continue with its own enquiry and strict disciplinary action will be taken.

Ragging means display of noisy, disorderly conduct, doing any act which causes or is likely to cause physical or psychological harm or raise apprehension or fear or shame or embarrassment to a student whether he/she is a junior or fellow class mate and includes:

  1. Teasing, abusing of, playing practical jokes on, or causing hurt to, such student.
  2. Asking the student to do any act or perform something which such student will not, in the ordinary course do, willingly.

Ragging is totally prohibited. If anyone indulges in ragging, he/she will be handed over to the police and the law will take its course. Students are therefore, requested to refrain from indulging in any kind of ragging.
