As per the guidelines of UGC under the Act of 1956, which is modified as UGC regulations on curbing the menace of Ragging in higher Educational Institutions, 2009, establishment of Anti-Ragging Cell is very compulsory.

Ragging means display of noisy, disorderly conduct, doing any act which causes or is likely to cause physical or psychological harm or raise apprehension or fear or shame or embarrassment to a student whether he/she is a junior or fellow class mate and includes:

The anti-ragging policy at Jayasree Arts and Science College is strict and unwavering. We have zero tolerance for any form of ragging, bullying, or harassment, and are committed to providing a safe and inclusive environment for all students. Our anti-ragging committee, comprising faculty members, staff, and student representatives, ensures strict compliance with the guidelines set by the University of Calicut. University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Supreme Court of India.

  1. Teasing, abusing of, playing practical jokes on, or causing hurt to, such student.
  2. Asking the student to do any act or perform something which such student will not, in the ordinary course do, willingly.

Ragging is totally prohibited. If anyone indulges in ragging, he/she will be handed over to the police and the law will take its course. Students are therefore, requested to refrain from indulging in any kind of ragging.

We conduct regular awareness programs and workshops to educate students about the negative consequences of ragging and encourage them to report any incidents promptly. With our proactive approach and firm stance against ragging, we strive to create a campus that is free from fear, intimidation, and harassment, where every student can learn and grow with confidence
